A reminder that inspiration is everywhere....I picked these pretty little jasmine blooms on a bush while waiting for my daughter's bus. I probably wouldn't have payed much notice to the plant itself - it's not the prettiest and the flowers were tiny and few, but as I stood there waiting I started examining the hedge of jasmine- where I found these pretty blooms, a caterpillar, butterflies, and of course lizards (it is Florida)...All which would have been passed by without notice if I wasn't forced to take the time to stop and smell the "jasmine" and just look at what was around me. Of course I had to pick a few blooms to take home and sketch and make into a pattern! :) Here's to you finding something inspiring today - Cheers!

Floral ditsy patterns consist of tiny florals that are spaced close together and seem tossed or random. Liberty of London fabrics have a long history of this style. They first started selling fabrics in the 1870's, but it wasn't until the 1920's that the patterns we're familiar with today as "Liberty prints" were born.

A simple repeat inspired by the beautiful colors and patterns used in Indian art and textiles.

Scandinavian inspired design. This one was drawn in Procreate, then vectorized and colored in illustrator. And it makes a cute pillow too!
